Well this is my first blog and it will be about the deals I discovered in the new sales for Target. These sale prices end June 20, 2009.
Plan:
Buy a Frozen treat listed on the back of the target sale paper ($2.50) receive a $5 gift card
Second purchase.
Use your $5 now and buy:
welch's squeezable jelly and 15 or 16 oz. of the Skippy Peanut Butter. Both are on sale $1.79 each. - Free Oroweat Whole Wheat loaf of Bread
Total Spent - 2.50
Target Card- 3.38
You still have 1.42 on the card. Some states have a grocery tax so you need to figure that in.
KEY is to use a coupon or gift card, but don't put it in your plan unless it is on sale or has a rebate, incentive, or extra bucks to spend in the store.
I have really enjoyed couponing lately since school is out. I have found a hobbie that I desperately needed and I am amazed at the amount of groceries I can get if I am just patient.
Last week I only spent 64.87 on groceries. That was my first go at it officially for really trying to get the best deal. I flubbed up on some cereal coupons, so it could have been better.
This week so far I have only spent 20.14 at Publix. I was super happy after I walked out of there with things I needed and how savy I can get to beat the system.
I just finished reading "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. I highly recommend it for a great laugh. I found myself laughing so hard I cried.
I am starting on another book by William Faulkner The Reivers. It is suppose to be a comedy masterpiece. So can't wait to get started on that.
The Family is doing great we are on week three of some kind of camp. We did baseball camp, VBS at Willowbrook, and now we are at Cove Church. The kids are really enjoying it and learning about God and how much he loves us. I love to hear their versions of the stories when they come home each day. Sean is getting ready for his 6th Birthday in August, Colin is just trying to get away with playing as much XBOX360 as possible, and Dad is busy getting ready to his Captain's Career Course and starting Graduate School at Auburn University. di
We are so excited that he was excepted in to their MBA program and he will be starting that this fall. We are official Auburn fans now and for a good reason. Sean didn't like it at first, but he understands now why he needs to switch. Bella just turned a year old on Monday June 15th. She has calmed a bit more and the kids have decided that we shouldn't kill her and that they will keep her. She still has her moments, but she sure does love us. I still have my gold fish as in one. My other fish was found dead this morning belly up. I got the fish at last year's Oktoberfest on the Arsenal. I named them Frick and Frack so, I decided that it was Frick that died and Frack is still swimming. I will miss seeing them chase each other in the bowl after they eat. Well, that's it for my first blog on here and hope that I can keep up with many more. I find it very meditative to reflect on my family with all of their accomplishments.
